Dear Summer,
You always seem to arrive at just the right time.
You greet us with slower mornings, golden sunsets, and permission to breathe a little deeper. You remind us that life isn’t only measured by calendars, deadlines, or the next thing on our to-do list, but by the people we love and the moments that make simple days feel unforgettable.
Thank you for the memories we’ll carry long after we are rushed back into this new semester. Thank you for the lake days, road trips, hometown coffee runs, late-night conversations, and quiet mornings. Thank you for the laughter shared around dinner tables, the reunions with old friends, and the chance to simply slow down.
But more than that, thank you for the opportunities.
Thank you for internships that stretched us, jobs that taught us, and experiences that helped us discover new passions. Thank you for the courage to step into unfamiliar places and the confidence gained from trying something new. Thank you for the women who spent their summers in offices, classrooms, camps, hospitals, and businesses, learning, growing, and preparing for the future.
Thank you for adventures that took us far from home, to new cities, new countries, and places we had only dreamed of seeing. For those who studied abroad, traveled, or explored somewhere new, thank you for the memories made, the perspectives gained, and the reminder that there is so much beauty in the world and so much waiting for us beyond what we already know.
And thank you for the quiet growth that no one else sees—the prayers prayed, the lessons learned, the confidence built, and the small moments that shape us into who we are becoming.
As bittersweet as it is to say goodbye, there is something exciting starting very soon. A new semester means new friendships, new opportunities, new traditions, and countless moments that will someday become our favorite memories. There will be challenges, laughter, unexpected blessings, and ordinary days that we won’t realize are special until years later.
So here’s to one last week before move-in, one last evening at home, and one last deep breath before the adventure begins again.
Let’s walk into this semester with grateful hearts, open hands, and the confidence that our best memories may still be ahead of us. May we carry the joy, rest, and lessons of summer with us into every class, chapter meeting, conversation, and moment this fall.
Thank you, summer break! We love you so dearly.
DLAM,
Delta Iota
