Distinguished Deltas: Cindy Minor

Happy Tuesday, Deltas! Today, we are shining a spotlight on the incredible achievements of our chapter and celebrating a sister who truly defines what it means to lead with a servant's heart. Delta Iota is absolutely shining brighter than ever, and we have so many milestones to celebrate from this past year!

From the University of Arkansas campus to the national stage, our chapter has been recognized for its dedication to excellence, sisterhood, and service. Locally, Delta Iota swept the Campus & Panhellenic Awards, taking home the prestigious Panhellenic Award of Excellence and being named the Most Philanthropic Chapter at the University of Arkansas. Driven by a passion for our philanthropy, our sisters rallied together to raise an astonishing, record-breaking $305,000 in the past year alone for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital!

The recognition only grew at the national level. At the Tri Delta National Convention, Delta Iota was honored with multiple Tri Delta National Awards, including national recognition for our House Corporation Board for providing a premier, values-driven living experience. We know with absolute certainty that these incredible milestone awards would not be possible without the foundation built by our remarkable alumnae. You are our mentors, our support system, and the living legacy of Delta Iota. We appreciate you more than words can ever fully express.

Speaking of exceptional alumnae, we are bursting with pride to celebrate our amazing Alumna Advisor, Cindy Minor. At the National Convention, Cindy was officially awarded the 2026 Collegiate Volunteer Service Award, given annually to just one advisor across the nation for outstanding service and commitment to the Fraternity.

Born and raised with Tri Delta in her blood, Cindy’s connection to the fraternity goes back as far as she can remember. Her mother was a founding member and the first president of the Phi Chi Chapter at UALR, as well as an Alumna Advisor.

After graduating from the University of Arkansas in May 1989, Cindy immediately jumped into giving back. She served as the Rush Advisor for the Phi Chi Chapter from 1991–1993 and has remained passionately involved in recruitment ever since. In 2021, she stepped in as the Membership Experience Advisor for Delta Iota, and in 2024, she officially took over the role of Alumna Advisor.

Today, Cindy serves as the Alumna Advisor for Delta Iota, a role she passionately describes as the best job she has ever had. Operating under the guiding philosophy that an advisor's purpose is to "Model, Mentor, and Monitor," she focuses heavily on mentorship, which remains her absolute favorite part of the role. Though she resides in Little Rock, her dedication to the chapter is unwavering; every August, she packs up and moves to Fayetteville for two weeks just to support the active sisters through formal recruitment which is a testament to her self-proclaimed "first love." Throughout the school year, Cindy keeps a packed schedule filled with weekly meetings with the Executive Board, monthly advisor team touchpoints, and quarterly collaborations with the House Corporation and the Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs. Even with her own continuing education modules and Executive Office requirements to fulfill, she makes it a priority to travel to Fayetteville in person at least once a month, ensuring our collegiate members always have a steady, supportive hand guiding them.

When asked "How has Tri Delta shaped you?" Cindy said,

"Tri Delta has given me more than I could ever put into words. It is the foundation upon which I have built so much of my life. Through Tri Delta, I have found lifelong friendships that span generations, experienced countless opportunities for personal growth, and learned lessons that have shaped both my personal and professional life. Even today, working with the Delta Iota Chapter continues to teach me. It reminds me how to be a better leader, a better listener, and to approach every situation with an open mind."

Cindy has a long list of beautiful contributions to our sisterhood, including decades of recruitment coaching, stepping up whenever her region needed leadership, and fiercely advocating for the growth and success of Delta Iota. This list doesn't even do her justice. She truly pours so much love into our chapter.
