Hellllo Deltas! This past weekend, our newest pledge class was initiated! There are now 175 officially official members of Delta Iota. This was such a sweet time for all of our members. There was a role for everyone to step into to be a part of this special ceremony. The older girls got to bond with the younger girls while they painted socks together. A tradition we have done here at Tri Delta for years, painting socks with your sponsor is something fun and silly we do during I-Week to incorporate our traditions into a new generation.

Preparing for this weekend, it was so special to reflect on the rich history we are stepping into. When our new sisters took

their vows, they joined a tradition that began over 135 years ago on Thanksgiving Eve in 1888, when Sarah Ida Shaw and Eleanor Dorcas Pond founded Delta Delta Delta at Boston University. Every symbol woven into our ritual carries such deep meaning. From the pansy representing thought and lifelong friendship, to the pine tree symbolizing strength and steadfastness, and the pearl and crescent moon reminding us of our infinite potential to shine.

Tri Delta initiation is the sacred, timeless ceremony of the new member experience, marking the formal transition from new member to lifelong sister. Grounded in values of truth, selflessness, and being "kind alike to all," the ritual unveils the deeper symbolic meanings behind our sorority's iconic emblems- the trident, the pine tree, the crescent moon, and the pansy. More than just a ceremonial weekend, initiation is the moment where collegiate friendship transforms into a lifelong sisterhood, empowering every member to shine brightly wherever life takes her.

We want to shout out our Director of Ceremonies and Rituals, Emma Vogt. She led her team with confidence and grace during this special time. Emma put in hours and hours of work planning initiation so the new PC would never forget it. Thank you Emma and the Ceremonies and Rituals team for all that you do for Delta Iota.
